Mike
Fournier, President and Operations Manager, has been involved in the
energy industry since 1984 as a licensed journeyman Electrician. During
his apprenticeship years, he became fascinated with alternative energy
and in 1996 formed the Welland Canal Power Corporation. After deregulation
in May of 2002, the company was renamed Niagara Windpower Inc. to
better serve the Niagara Region.
From May 2002
to present the company has been constantly growing and expanding.
It has become the exclusive dealer for a wide variety of products
which include wind turbines, windmills, anemometers and solar products.
Niagara Windpower not only markets the alternative energy products,
but completely installs your units and educates as well.
Most recently,
June 9th 2006, we hosted a Renewable Energy Summit in Niagara Falls
to explain Standard Offer Contract and it's benefits.
In May of 2003
the company moved into its first location on Highway 20 - just west
of Hwy 406. With several offices and a production shop it is able
to handle the demand. In June of 2006 we opened our second location
in Grimsby at 183 South Service Road to better serve our clients.
Niagara Windpower
Inc. has also become the Canadian distributor for several new products
including the Mag-Wind 1100, a vertical axis turbine, and Kinenergy,
a new kinetic energy source.
The inquiries
have been phenomenal and the number of enthusiasts are rapidly increasing.
To address this need we have built a knowledgeable Sales Team serving
most of Ontario.
We have leasing
available with our partners - Alliance Financing Group Inc. and we
can help with government grants and other incentives.
As the fastest
growing industry in Niagara, our installations have been providing
jobs and new careers for many Niagara residents including our youth.
